Role Overview

Goodwin Living is seeking a mission-aligned, results-driven Associate Director of Sales to provide consistent, on-site sales leadership for Goodwin House Alexandria (GHA) and Goodwin House Bailey’s Crossroads (GHBC), both of which are entrance, Life Care continuing care retirement communities. This role serves as a selling leader (player-coach) responsible for driving occupancy performance, developing high-performing sales professionals and ensuring a seamless, high-touch customer experience across both campuses.

Key Responsibilities

Sales Leadership & Operations

  • Provide day-to-day leadership and oversight of the GHA/GHBC sales counselors
  • Actively engage with prospects through tours, consultations and follow-up
  • Ensure a consistent, mission-aligned sales experience that reflects the Goodwin Living values
  • Serve as a visible and trusted sales leader for prospects, resident, campus management and internal stakeholders

Occupancy & Performance Accountability

  • Maintain and exceed occupancy and Early Advantage targets at both campuses
  • Monitor pipeline health, inventory flow and waitlist movement
  • Maintain and exceed Early Advantage and Ready List budgeted membership targets
  • Identify risks and implement proactive strategies to support sustained occupancy
  • Drive timely sales-focused decision-making related to pricing, inventory, and prospect prioritization
  • Serve as the Sales department leader for the Resident Marketing Committees

Team Development & Management

  • Lead weekly sales team meetings and pipeline reviews
  • Conduct regular one-on-one coaching and development sessions
  • Provide performance feedback, accountability and professional development support for direct reporters
  • Directly oversee Sales Counselors

Reporting & Metrics

  • Oversee sales reporting and key performance indicators
  • Ensure accurate and consistent use of Salesforce and related systems
  • Translate data into actionable insights for leadership and the sales team
  • Collaborate with the Director of Sales Operations on prospect, reservist and resident satisfaction surveys and measures

Cross-Campus & Organizational Leadership

  • Participate as a member of the GHA and GHBC leadership teams
  • Serve as the primary sales representative at community meetings and events
  • Act as a lead presenter for sales, marketing, and referral events
  • Maintain working knowledge of all Goodwin Living service lines to support cross-referrals and continuity of care

Leadership Profile

The successful candidate will demonstrate:

  • Proven experience as a selling leader in senior living or a service-driven environment with a minimum of three years prior experience
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • High emotional intelligence and a relationship-centered leadership approach
  • Ability to coach, develop and motivate high-performing teams
  • Data-driven decision-making and operational rigor
