About the Position:
Position is primarily responsible for the development, coordination, and implementation of all communications between GHBC staff and administration with GHBC residents. Communication includes but is not limited to: computer/technology sources, A/V system, and signage throughout the GHBC campus. Position is also responsible for overseeing the Goodwin Living Bailey’s Crossroads (GHBC) residents volunteer program. This includes recruiting, training, and maintaining all GHBC resident volunteers.
This position pays $27/hr
The schedule for this role is M,W,F and 9am-5pm this totals 24 hours weekly
Job Duties:
Independently designs, produces, and coordinates the distribution of all communication materials for internal use throughout GHBC:
Produces weekly newsletter (the West Winds) to include feature and news articles by staff and residents and the weekly schedule of programs and events in accordance with organizational guidelines.
Coordinates recording of events and programs if needed.
Coordinates photography for print and other public use by GHBC staff and administration.
Ensures accuracy and compatibility of all information distributed to GHBC residents.
Maintains and operates GHBC’s internal resident communication system (“Touchtown”) with Cultural Arts and Event Manager and serves as the liaison for the system with the manufacturer. Also serves as the liaison to the Resident website administrator.
Maintains and operates GHBC’s AV equipment throughout the community and helps provide support and training to all resident committees and staff.
Recruit and coordinate the resident volunteers needed in the community. Screen prospective candidates; interview applicants; and perform verbal and written reference checks.
Collaborate with Goodwin Living Volunteer Coordinator to train all new resident volunteers at a New Volunteer Orientation. Review all policies yearly with all resident volunteers. Keep volunteers up to date with any changes through the quarterly newsletter.
Monitor all volunteers and their work. Maintain up-to-date volunteer records for the Department. A file on every volunteer will be maintained which includes volunteer application, volunteer background check, reference check and other pertinent information. Maintain database of all GHBC volunteers.
Coordinate annual resident volunteer appreciation event(s) in collaboration with Goodwin Living Volunteer Coordinator
Job Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in communication, media design, or related field or equivalent work experience preferred.
Excellent proofreading and editorial skills required.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
High proficiency with MS Office and office machines/technology required.
Canva software, experience highly preferred.
Experience in working with older adults highly preferred.
