About the Position

The Goodwin Living Spring 2026 Internship gives Marymount University, George Mason University and NVCC students the opportunity to explore the field of senior living and engage in a department that is essential to our organization. Interns can apply for a position in the following eight departments:

  • Brain Health (with residents)

  • Brain Health Thrive Day Program (with residents)

  • Business Operations (with our Home Care and Goodwin Living at Home team). 

  • Employee Engagement & Community Partnership

  •  Human Resources

  •  Healthcare Administration

  •  Home Office

  •  Marketing/Communications

This program can fulfill the hours necessary for the school-credit internship requirement, if needed. Interns will be required to submit all necessary onboarding documents and attend an orientation prior to their start date. 

Interns will receive a stipend, school-credit, a resident mentor, and 2-3 professional development workshops with our leadership team. 

Job Requirements

  • Applicants must be currently enrolled in Marymount University, George Mason or NVCC 
  • Ability to relate to and work with team members and their department
  • Creates a welcoming, friendly and adaptable environment for those they serve and work with 
  • Be interested to work with a diverse population of older adults
  • Have a can-do mindset and be excited to learn about all we have to offer
  • Proficient with email communications and knowledge of Microsoft Office 

Job Duties

  • Follow all procedures of the host department
  • Engage in projects as defined by the host department 
  • Assist in day to day task of the host department

Activities, Research and Community Outreach

Brain Health Thrive Day Program (with residents)

Activities, Resident Support and Family Education

Business Operations (with our Home Care and Goodwin Living at Home team)

Service Line Strategy, Industry Analysis, Program Development, Marketing Support

Employee Engagement & Community Partnership

Employee Engagement, Outreach with Schools and Nonprofits, Policies and Procedures, and Social Media

Human Resources

Employee Engagement, File Management, Shadowing HR meetings 

Healthcare Administration

Assisting with operations, Scheduling, analysis of quality of care, customer service with residents, culture and workforce development strategies, shadow leadership

Home Office

Executive Office Support and Business Development

Marketing & Communications

Blog Writing, Digital Marketing, Content Strategy, Brand Management and Internal Communications
