Job Summary:
Goodwin Living seeks a Marketing & Communications Manager who brings advanced project management skills along with a pioneering spirit to contribute to the work of a creative and collaborative marketing and communications team. Our growing organization is leading the field of senior living and healthcare services as we innovate and redefine aging. We have a story to tell, a voice to be heard and passion to share.
As Marketing & Communications Manager, you will serve as a business partner to specific brand extensions within the organization and play a pivotal role in shaping and executing the organization’s messaging and brand identity across various platforms and deliverables. This involves a blend of strategic planning, creative execution and implementation, as well as analytical evaluation to assess if we effectively reach target audiences, enhance brand awareness, and drive engagement on schedule and on budget.
You will join a team that is responsible for building awareness and managing the reputation of the Goodwin Living brand, brand extensions, products and service lines. Working under advisement from the Chief Strategy & Marketing Officer, the department oversees branding, content marketing management, digital marketing, social media, public relations, and internal communications. You will also join an organization that has a track record for career growth of its team members.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

Develop, implement and iterate marketing communications strategies:
In partnership with internal clients, oversee the creation and execution of comprehensive marketing and communication plans that align with organizational goals and objectives. This includes defining target audiences and the key messages, value propositions, and differentiators that will resonate with them. It also involves establishing timelines and budgets based on internal client guidance. - Content creation and management: Oversee and contribute to the creation and production of high-quality content across various channels, including websites, social media, email campaigns, advertising, and marketing collateral (brochures, fliers, branded items, etc.), presentations and press releases.
- Digital marketing: Advise and contribute to the management and implementation of digital marketing efforts, including paid search and display ad campaigns, social media efforts, email marketing, content management, Search Engine Optimization (SEO). This may be independently or in partnership with third party business partners.
- Brand management and consistency: Ensure consistent messaging and branding across all communication channels and materials, aligning with the Goodwin Living mission, values, vision and brand guidelines.
- Collaboration and stakeholder engagement: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including internal clients and external consultants to ensure aligned messaging and achieve organizational goals. Build and maintain relationships with internal business partners as well as external partners and agencies with a goal of ensuring internal client goals and needs are understood, met and satisfied.
- Data and Market analysis: In partnership with key stakeholders, monitor available data (e.g. Google analytics, audience engagement, census goals, etc.), market trends, consumer behavior, and competitor activities to identify opportunities and inform marketing strategies.
- Team leadership: Lead and mentor junior members of the team as well as interns, assigning tasks, setting goals and fostering a collaborative environment.
Qualifications:
- Equivalent work experience or a bachelor’s degree in marketing, journalism, business, or related field
- 5+ years’ experience in communications, PR, marketing or related field
- Digital Marketing Proficiency: Strong understanding and experience with digital marketing tools and platforms, including social media, email marketing software, SEO, and web analytics
- Strategic Thinking and Creativity: Ability to think strategically, develop innovative marketing ideas, and translate business objectives into impactful communication strategies
- Strong writing/editing skills; ability to gather and synthesize information for delivery via multiple digital channels; and a knack for crafting messages that are both informative and engaging using words, infographics, and photos/videos
- Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze market data, interpret results, and derive insights to measure campaign effectiveness and optimize future strategies.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Understanding of an internal agency model that serves internal clients as business partners by building rapport and trust and by taking their lead
Desired Skills:
- Proactive problem solver with excellent analytical/organizational skills and strong attention to detail
- Ability to work collaboratively within the team and across all departments to achieve optimal outcomes with a customer service mindset, including a respectful presence for those we serve (residents, members, patients, team members, guests, etc.)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint; familiarity with Canva or Adobe CreativeSuite design software preferred
- Proficiency in WordPress and email platforms (e.g. Pardot, MailChimp, ConstantContact, etc.); familiarity with CRMs (e.g. Salesforces) a plus
- Experience with various digital analytics, including GA4, HootSuite, social media engagement and email/digital marketing data
- Familiarity with various AI tools that can support marketing and communications work
- Ability to multi-task and monitor several projects and accounts on a daily basis
- Ability to work well under pressure and manage time effectively
- Ability to take initiative, think outside-the-box and stretch boundaries
- Ability to work independently and/or in a team
- Interest or experience working with older adults and/or in healthcare
